“My life would suck without you…” -Kelly Clarkson
It’s been a long week since I wrote last. Xmas came and went with the aftermath still apparent through my house. For some reason, the city thinks recycling every other week is a great idea with no exceptions for all the dead trees in bags from the holiday. Even on normal weeks we have tons of recycling, which is what they want, but never enough space for it all. Thinking about it only makes me insane. Someone needs to revisit their plans and make some changes! Especially on the week of Xmas.
The biggest issue for me during the xmas break is that I seem to forget what day it is. I almost missed this post because of the chaos in house, in my mind, and having no set schedule with Bean home. I must admit, it is rather nice watching her daily play with her new toys and basking in the spoils that Xmas brought her. Soon, we will begin putting her things away for school to begin after the new year and life will get back to something of what we view as “normal”.
As I write this, it is exactly one week until my birthday. I like that I begin the new year, every year, another year older and wiser. I can re-form who I am, but I never make “resolutions”. They never seem to stick for most people. I just strive to be the best person I can be daily and always stay true to myself. I think that is what New Years means to me. I have some plans for this year and I cannot wait to begin working on the things I have been scaling out. I am back to dieting after my birthday and trying to get my health issues under control. Other than that, the best thing to be is the best mom I can possibly be. According to Bean, I already am the best. #winning
To sum it all up, this year was rough at the beginning and middle, but ended okay. 2017 brings another trip to Philly, a year with all of you, and so close to graduation it hurts!
Onto the next one…
Weekly WTF: WHY CAN’T PEOPLE JUST DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO?! I totally get why Dutch becomes unhinged when this happens. UGH!
Kitchen Kauldron: Watermelon with sea salt and a touch of feta is amazing. Whoda thunk it?!
Popcorn Worthy: Not many movies this week, but we did watch The Water Horse. I want one of those things! It is a pretty cute movie!
Press Play: I am obsessing over Queen lately. I wish music like that still existed. What happened to true talent? Very few groups have it….but there are some!
…I feel like more could be said but things are too chaotic. Next week it is back to business as usual, however. So be good or be good at it guys and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
