Where Does the Magic Go?
“They wanna break me and wash away my colors “ – Starset
Thanksgiving was low key and not bad. For once no drama. But I cannot believe that it is December 1st and Christmas is 24 days away. I have barely begun to shop and with a child home sick today, my plans may change for the next few days.
But here comes the influx of chaos. Shopping and every weekend filled with something. This weekend is the Xmas parade and decorating my mom’s tree. The next weekend is the xmas party for my dad’s side of the family. The weekend after is the only quiet one but it will be filled with my own shopping and finishing up some things. Add school to all this, job hunting, and chronic pain and I am a hot mess! I admit, I do not get into the “Xmas spirit” until the week before Santa comes. I watch Bean in complete admiration for the innocence she somehow still holds. It is hard to believe she still believes in Santa and how quickly that is drawing to a close. It makes me sad that more people cannot hold onto that magic.
2017 is quickly coming towards us and the future looks bright with a lot of changes. I will be closer to graduating and working hard towards my Master’s degree which wraps up not long after 2018 begins. There is a lot of promise and hope when New Year’s Eve comes along. Hopefully it will bring good things. This year has been full of medical issues and pain which will never resolve but I am adapting to and the hopeless feelings I had last year, are quickly fading. It is nice feeling that pressure off of me and looking ahead with a smile, hoping the new year brings awesome things for me and my girls. I like that every year brings us all a new beginning and a chance to do things over and make things better.
Is It June Yet??????
Press Play: If you have been tuning in, you know I have been finding new groups to explore. This week I am stuck on Emarosa and Starset. They are awesome and two of my faves. Also check out Dance Gavin Dance and Tilian. You won’t be sorry….OH and Hands Like Houses!
Kitchen Kauldron: I made a stuffing pancake by balling up leftover stuffing and flattening it, then pan fried it in a little coconut oil for some crisp. Added some turkey and drizzled some gravy with cranberry sauce on the side. It was amazing!!!
Coffee Chaos: Try CoffeeMate espresso chocolate and marshmallow hot cocoa creamers in your coffee for a yummy treat. You can also take some hot cocoa mix, dissolve it in a tiny bit of hot water to make it liquid, and add it in!
Popcorn Worthy: My ultimate favorite Christmas movie is Scrooge with Albert Finney. I watched it twice. I also watched the original Rudolph this week! Nothing like the classics for the holiday season!
Take Note: HIT THE $10 OPTION ON FURIOUSRADIO.COM …WE CAN USE YOUR SUPPORT! It would be a great Xmas present for us!
Until next week….be good or be good at it!
